Quilted Trivet

April 20 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm

Sandy Davis

note change of venue: Tway House 10235 Timberwood Cir, Louisville, KY 40223

During the April Day Program, we will make a simple hexagonal star trivet using fabric folding. There are lots of opportunities to customize using different fabrics for the folded portion of the pattern or using the built-in decorative stitches that are on so many sewing machines. This is so versatile that you can make them to celebrate each of the season, just by changing the fabric choices!

For this project, in addition to your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies, you will need:

2 – 10” squares of quilting fabric (one will be the background of the star and the other will be back of the trivet)

1 strip – 2¾” x WOF (this will be the wider portion of the triangles forming the star)

1 strip – 3½” x WOF (this will be the narrow strip – red in the upper trivet in the photo)

1 strip – 2” wide of tear away stabilizer, if embellishing with machine stitches

1 – 10” square lightweight batting (provided for the program)
