August 10, 2021 – Pat Sturtzel’s Quilt Exhibit

Some LNT members met with fiber artist, Pat Sturtzel, at All Peoples’ Unitarian Church to hear details about her latest exhibit.

Most of the works in this display have been completed in the past three years and include her hand-dyed fabrics.

Pat has worked as an art therapist, facilitating participants in a variety of art process with people of all ages and situations through the Kentucky Center’s Arts Thrive program, Arts in Healing, and has also facilitated projects with a variety of community groups over the years through schools, community centers, and All Peoples Unitarian Church.

Pat has taught fabric dyeing, surface design, and other fiber related processes to others through the Berea Festival of Learnshops and on request to quilt guilds and others. She hopes to return to in-person teaching of fiber arts processes in the fall.

You can find Pat on Facebook at “Pat’s Fiber Arts Studio”.

Watch the slideshow below about the creation of this quilt and information about the process.
Pat worked with members of the church congregation to create this huge quilt which hangs in the worship area.
Pat created the banners on the left and right for the worship area. The center photo is a close-up.

After a wonderful tour through Pat’s quilts, several met across the street at McAlister’s for lunch and enjoyable conversations.

Piecefully yours,

Luann
