In spite of frigid temperatures, ice, and no power in over 70,000 homes in the area, several members braved the elements to attend Marilou’s class on how to make a checkered Fleece Blanket with appliqués. Making a cozy blanket while looking through the windows at a winter wonderland seemed quite suitable. The only thing missing was a fire in the fireplace
Marilou also showed a fleece scarf with appliqués and fringe at the ends. It was oh! so toasty!
SEW AND TELL
Janet used scraps from our Christmas Cuddle Care quilts to make another holiday nine-patch for Cuddle Care. The stars in the white squares were made using a paper pattern and on her domestic machine.
Marilou showed a quilt top of her own design for a quilt she is making for a Christmas gift. The circle block was a class she taught in a class, and the black and white and plaid make a stunning combination.
Marilou shared a quilt that she will be teaching in a beginning quilting class at The Needle Arts Center.
Until we meet again, STAY WARM!
Piecefully yours,
Luann
