“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!” Robbie taught the cutest quilt block that looks like a gift. Although the “wrapping paper” on the blocks can represent any holiday, we all chose Christmas. The directions were simple enough that some people made several. Thank you, Robbie, for teaching us this new block.
If anyone ever tells you that quilting is serious business, don’t believe them!
Beverly demonstrates how to lick the thread before threading the machine.
Guess who?
The samples we made were placed on a background fabric for a picture. The gift near the center already has part of the sashing with a cornerstone.
Here are the two quilts Robbie showed as samples.
SHOW and TELL
Notice the darling animals quilted in the white squares of Brenda’s Cuddle Care quilt!
Sangeeta did a very nice job with her first attempt at quilting! She made all straight lines using the walking foot on her domestic machine.
The Quilt of Valor now has a binding! It was pieced and quilted and bound by guild members, and will be presented to a veteran at a ceremony this fall. Thanks to all who help show our gratitude for our veterans!
At the meeting on September 5, Susan W. will have an interactive demo on using the Double Diamond Ruler. Here’s a photo of just one of her many samples.
Piecefully yours,
