We had about forty members and guests present to hear Pam Shartzer’s presentation on the 2017 Kentucky State Fair and quilt entries in the Textile Division. It was quite an informative meeting! Included below are documents “Technical Points of Judging” and “Judge’s Critique” which may be helpful as you prepare your entries for the fair.
Several members shared the quilt or quilt top they completed since the last meeting when Susan taught the Friendship Star Wreath.
At the 10:00 meeting on June 15 we will work together to create a patriotic quilt to cover a local service member or veteran touched by war with a comforting and healing Quilt of Valor. The pattern and fabric will be provided. Bring your basic sewing suppose, including neutral thread, and a brown bag lunch.
Saengeeta created two lovely blue versions of the Friendship Star Wreath.
Marilou is getting ready for Christmas with her holiday Friendship Star Wreath.
Barbara’s Friendship Star Wreath is completely finished with added pictures and beautiful free-motion quilting.
Sandy shared this smocked apron she found in an antique store.
Sangeeta shared this blue buzz-saw style block.
Hope the next two documents will help as you prepare your quilt(s) to enter in the Kentucky State Fair this year.
This is the quilt-top we will make at the June 15 meeting.
